Plenty of us on nostr that are believers in a dual coin future. Bitcoin may accidentally give us the financial panopticon that we've been trying to avoid all these years. #monero is the freedom tech bitcoin will need to succeed in that situation.

Agreed. Bitcoin and Monero can (and I believe will) exist side by side.

Can I add one more?

If we imagine #Bitcoin as the (transparent) global reserve currency and #Monero as the (confidential) digital cash for everyday life, then we would still need programmability somewhere.

And that's where #Beam (mimblewimble+lelantus) could maybe find its place: It has privacy-preserving smart contracts, confidential NFTs, privacy DeFi, etc.
