Every time I on-board somebody I show them at least 5 clients to see their 5-second reactions and the power of Nostr. I rarely get the same reaction. Some people love Coracle, others Satellite, others Snort, others noStrudel, others Primal. It's really interesting to see the UI matching the user's expectations.

You wonโ€™t show Damus?

I donโ€™t do this. Letting them to play around with one client and then they will switch to the other client if they want too. Less confusing for newbies.

There truly is no accounting for taste, and it's glorious.

Just because I don't see a lot of iOS users. Most of my contacts are on Android. I think I only showed Damus twice since February.

Having the same identity and social circle in several apps and websites is the most bizarre part for new users. Showing this and observing their reaction is amusing.

It's exciting albeit difficult to explain this phenomena.

Do you know of anything else like that??

Hive has been like that for years.

What's hive? Do you have a link?

Blockchain based social media. I've been there since 2017, and generally make between $5 and $15 a post in crypto, sometimes closer to $50 or $100.

Here's one client, though there are many:

Oh, now I remember

It was a hard fork of steemit in 2020

Seriously if anyone knows some tech with this feature I need to know. Not for bragging but for studying.

I hope you show them Amethyst as well?

Yes he gives the tour then brings them back home ๐Ÿ˜

Yep, if they are talking to me, they already know about Amethyst. I just need to go through the magic of Nostr with them.

It's something you learn how to explain. It's easier if you show Habla after a kind1 setup, for instance. They immediately get it and because they have to transfer the keys between devices, it gives me an opportunity to talk about key safety and get them into an extension.

and when you look more into it you realize that each one gives you an entirely different experience; I often have 5+ clients open at the same time and I use them simultaneously

I love nostr

Glad I'm not the only one to do this lol.

I like seeing the (sometimes small, sometimes big) differences in feeds and UX

yep, most people don't really understand what Nostr is until they do that. You can talk about decentralization and freedom as much as you want, or you can just show it. It is more impressive than creating a bitcoin wallet and zapping without any approval anywhere.

This shows you commenting to yourself, not me. Did you deleted me from the reply by using ร—L or is something broken?

I don't understand how anyone can use just one or two clients. My entire workflow now depends on at least 6 clients: Amethyst, some kind1 on the desktop, Habla, Zap.stream, Blowater and some authoring ones line Shipyard

Old rusty devices an very bad internet forces me to refrain to one app.

When I try to open several, it guzzles my data/adsl package and none of the load.
