Very much so! I ended up with half the barrel full. Could potentially be about 95% full if I had more time that day. The shape keeps it low O2 and all you have to do it feed, tamp, repeat until your ready to quench. This barrel has a screw on cap on the side that I can take out to drain after the quench.
