Made this comment on Reddit about the media that I thought summed up the issue nicely:
They all have the same masters. Major media is a tool for the mega rich to drive the narrative away from the fact that they are all constantly stealing from us. It's not even that they are being dishonest, but it's the choices they make in what to show us and what not to show us that is used to manipulate us. Sure, most journalists are doing an honest job and reporting unbiased news, but who makes the decision about what gets on the front page of the news? Who decides where to send their reporters? It comes from the top down. They control the narrative and direction of our daily outrage. How many people know what is even going on in their own city governments compared to the latest racist/transphobic/whatever Florida bill about to be passed? Who has time to understand what it really means when we go even deeper into debt by trillions of dollars every year, when times are relatively peaceful and everyone is working so hard? How could that be?
The entire system is rigged to funnel money to the top. It's built into the institutions we all rely on to survive. To keep us perpetually in debt to the money masters. The banks. They print money out of thin air and devalue all our existing dollars. It doesn't matter to them because they have an infinite supply. If they make bad investments, they will bail themselves out. The Federal Reserve is not even a government institution. It is a private bank, and it holds nothing in reserve. Yet they have the power to create and destroy trillions of dollars at will. Does that make any sense to you? When we created the Fed we literally handed control of our government over to the banks, and the banks have decided we should be in debt to them forever. That's the reality that should be being reported.
But who has time to figure that all out when there's drag queens reading stories to children?
