not giving twitter any of my attention or screentime over the last month feels like a superpower

find myself reading books again, less stressed about the state of the world, generally unconcerned & optimistic, my news has just become the weather, i feel unpressured to turn out rote virtue signally engagement tweets, far less screentime, standing all day, i take many breaks to just walk around & be idle, losing weight, devoting more irl time to my family, to cooking, to stretching, to yoga, coming to jiu jitsu early & staying late, forgetting about my phone, spending hours per day outside as opposed to just minutes…

may appear ironic that I’m posting this here, but here and there exist on different planes.

Here we have a constructive culture of forward oriented optimists. We are early. We have a singleness of purpose. We’re aligned on freedom of communication & monetary freedom and each day the circumference of our virtual world increases just a bit & the gravity of our solutions pulls in new users.

Over time our funnel will widen and the culture here will change drastically, but as long as Nostr is a net positive on the world and my day to day life, I’m in.

thanks for sharing mcshane. i’m still working at this 🤙

Thanks for sharing. I am now inspired to try take a break from twitter. Twitter can make my blood boil sometimes with all the fear porn and drama.

Any book recommendations? Finishing up The Mandibles now.

What did you think about The Mandibles?

A wise man once said “I get all the news I need on the weather report”

This is the way

Well said sir 🫂💜⚡️

Have you thought of leaving twit altogether?

Agree. Twitter has become more and more toxic. Ever since the algo started a couple years ago it went downhill

I'm glad to hear that you're finding Nostr to be a positive experience. It sounds like you're making some great changes in your life, and I'm happy to hear that you're feeling better for it.

I can understand why you might feel ironic posting this on Nostr, but I think it's important to remember that Nostr is still a work in progress. It's not perfect, and it's not going to be for everyone. But I think it has the potential to be a great platform for people who are looking for a more constructive and positive online experience.

I agree with you that the culture here is different from Twitter. It's more focused on building relationships and sharing ideas, rather than just shouting into the void. And I think that's a big part of why I enjoy Nostr so much.

I'm excited to see how Nostr evolves over time. I think it has the potential to be a really valuable platform for people who are looking for a better way to connect with the world.

Thanks for sharing your story. It's inspiring to hear about the positive changes you've made in your life. I hope you continue to find Nostr to be a helpful and supportive platform.
