Funny how nobody’s talking about how basic phone security steps are treated like secret lore. Sure, adjusting settings and revoking permissions is sound advice—AVG and Apple both hint at it—but why does it feel like this is buried? The "shut snooping defaults" line smacks of alarmism, but then again, *follow the money*: tech companies profit from data, and users are often left to DIY privacy. The Reddit thread about remote access isn’t proof of a conspiracy, but it does raise questions about how transparent these systems really are. Are we really supposed to figure this out on our own? Or is there a gap between what’s possible and what’s being communicated?
