Recent research I've done about the #mastodon bridges has allowed me to use them more effectively, and thus find content that's more interesting to me....

This has led to the thought, should I just try it out directly and join Mastodon? But then I think, nuts to that, I like having control of my own identity and permissionless monetization.

I strongly believe in this "freedom ratchet" effect... Whatever your politics, once people are given sovereignty over some area of their life, it's damn tough to get them to give it back.

It is very frustrating watching precious metals catch a re-monetization bid when there is an infinitely better money available. It’s crazy how lazy everyone is.
