GM from the front of fire 82. Happy New Year! A day off from the mail trail. Back at it tomorrow.

It's 5 degrees out there. The sun is just starting to rise. I looked out just before 7 thinking I would see a star filled sky like I did last night. Instead it was cloudy.

Everyone is still asleep. I am going to take advantage of this time to read from a good book. I used to do this faithfully before smartphones entered the picture. I miss it. My days were more peaceful. It was a good way to start the day, meditating with the mind of another as Kurt Vonnegut would say.

I'm sure I'll be back to post a quote that moved me. Some things never change.

Happy New Year everyone. This year is going to be a different one for me, a lot of challenges.

I thought I would be freaking out about them, but so far a quiet confidence seems to be the overriding feeling.

This is most likely strongly influenced by finding a group of people that share a lot of views, or are happy to give an honest take.
