i wouldn't go and stick my private key into any and all applications. some are more trusted than others. if you use Android, i would recommend using an application called Amber. it's a private key manager. it holds your key for you so that you don't have to give it to applications. sadly nothing like this exists on iOS. if you use a laptop or desktop, you can use a lot of nostr apps on the web and use a web browser extension to hold your private key and sign into apps that way. it's more secure than entering your key. check out https://nostrapps.com to see what else is offered. i use an extension called Nostr Connect.

I started looking into building a native iOS signer on Nostr today. I have some ideas.

Do ittt 🙏 Any work that a someone less developer-ly inclined can do to help?

Not at the moment! If it’s possible to build an iOS signer, we’ll need people to test the integration at some point, but we’re not there yet.

awesome 👀

Derek isnt NOSTORE the one for iOS?

correct!

I highly recommend always using a burner when testing new apps.

It makes no sense that we don’t have proper key management and delegation at the protocol level and built into the apps we use here every day.

Many keys will be lost and compromised as a result.

Correct 💯
