I got here at the farm at some point in time about an hour ago. I found the water pump for the aquaponics tank to be in a failure mode so I proceeded to troubleshoot. My first assumption was that the float switch had tripped, but on resetting the motor still did not resume. Next I disassembled the motor and found that the rubber impeller had melted, and the motor was seized. I cleaned all of the rubber residue and installed a new impeller. While these repairs were in progress, I added water directly to the fish tank.

Water added to tank -

Estimated at .5 ft of depth, and a surface area of 36.3 sqft, that was about 136 gallons replaced

7.5 gal/cuft

Total tank volume 1.66*3.4²*π =60.29 cuft = 452 gallons

I thought this tank was much bigger, I need to double check all my math.
