Indeed. Going forward creates a weirdness since you leave the present and go into a future you did not exist in from that present to that future.

Going backwards is not in the cards.

It's treated like a thing by science. It's defined as a dimension usually, which is misleading.

Gotcha. Spacetime continuum displacement is probably a better description/definition for time travel then.

I always think of time in cycles or circles. Easily observable and natural is the seasons, stars, moon, etc. they revolve in nearly perfect sequence, but never quite the same.

In a way each "decision" changes their path too
