Is it normal to interview with a Bitcoin company, but never discuss Bitcoin in multiple rounds of interviews? nostr:nprofile1qqsxmk0alw7djtjd8alkgluam2euhfj278txuz7mugtt2lkw4j9s2kqpr3mhxue69uhhg6pj9ehx7um5wghx2ctjde4hyatz9eu8j7spxdmhxue69uhkcmnzd968xtnnv96x7umgd93x77pwd9hj7mn0wd68ycmvd9jkuap0v9cxjtmkxyhhyetvv9uszrthwden5te0dehhxtnvdakqvq3r3t #jobstr

No

I personally love hearing people’s bitcoin stories during the first call. But, I would have some questions for you regarding the job itself first: can they tell you are a Bitcoiner from your CV? (To begin with).

So, to answer it’s YES and NO, but I won’t dare to answer that more precisely because I like being politically correct sometimes 😂

Not inherently, but they would know through my cover letter and my explained understanding of their services. The questions asked were generic and could have been found on a typical Google search for interview questions. Unfortunately, the conversations felt scripted and lacked a genuine attempt to get to know me.

Hey, sorry for the delay, I’m a bit busy fighting for freedom in homeland 😅✊I’m sorry to hear you had that experience. Are we talking about one call here or multiple, I’m a bit confused now?

Focusing convo on skills is crucial, especially if they already know you are “one of them” mentally and culturally - but I agree that getting to know person is crucial too. Balance! Still, let’s not foget that when you talk to a professional, even if the questions are a basic template from Google, they can learn A LOT.

Long story short, interviewing is a two way street: both sides should be given an opportunity to get to know the other side, does it make sense? It is tricky to find that perfect balance of finding a great cultural fit (read, bitcoiner) and a matching skill set. As for me, I could spend the entire call talking about nothing else but Bitcoin, but to be honest, the job would never be done in that case.

In case your unpleasant experience was connected to Strike in any way, I would love to learn more, hear your feedback and improve our processes! Feel free to send me a dm!

There were three calls. It was the furthest I've gotten on this journey, so I'm at least thankful for the learning opportunity. It wasn't connected to Strike.
