he’s been right a lot of times, long before everyone got on board

Ron Paul is the 🐐

This like Indias Aadhar card .. but worse cuz you need to pay for it :-) 😭

The USA had its chance. Twice. And before that, Perot, which is as close as the country got to breaking free of the reins of those in power. Each time, the proletariat failed. Now that avenue has been removed. Anyone outside of the "establishment" will never even reach the ballot, much less take leadership, ever again.

Without the government being able to identify you as their citizen, you may be shipped to a prison in El Salvador. You say you have a birth certificate? Sorry, there is no judicial review. You didn't have your RealID on you and Trump doesn't wait for the court.

Seriously though, I don't think the privacy concerns surrounding letting the government identify you as their citizen are a big deal. Of course the government has to identify you as their citizen for driving (drivers license) entry and exit (passport) and certain other services.

And whenever you want to do "incogneto" just don't carry your RealID with you... or your phone. And maybe wear a mask.

I never understood the argument against better identification, and for poor and forgeable identification.

I take back "driving", I was just thinking about current kinds of ID. I don't think they need to know who you are for driving unless you break a law. And that is general, not just about driving.

Why does the government have the authority to identify you at any point like some fucking criminal? Do I have the right to identify you? What’s your address and phone number? Is Mike your real name? Please verify with a picture of your drivers license, a birth certificate, and a recent bill or bank statement with your name and address on it. This is for your safety.

If you cannot be identified I will ship you to El Salvador. Obviously you are an illegal immigrant.

You ignored my question.

I don't know what you think about the immgration issue, but it is completely bone headed to believe both of these things:

* The government does not have the right to identify me.

* The government must deport illegal immigrants.

I agree. Which is why I don’t believe both of those things.

One of the reasons why the US was, for a very long time a place where no one had to carry "papers" and show them on demand, was the Naturalization Act of 1790 -- passed by the First Congress, which included many of the Founders, and which was signed by George Washington. This law defined who could become a citizen of the country: only people of European race. Therefore one could easily see with one's own eyes who was alien and did not belong here, and be right 95% of the time. No papers necessary.

This doesn’t change the fact that no man, including men from the government, have the right to force one to identify and prove he is “legal.” This level of surveillance WILL be used against good people. It’s not about safety. They don’t give a fuck about safety. If they cared about people, they wouldn’t be forcing vaccines and shitty dietary recommendations on people.

Rights do not exist in Nature as actual entities. They are very valuable concepts for ordering societies, but they _are_ just concepts. We have only the rights which we are willing to defend with sufficient violence and/or intelligence. Autonomous networks powered by immutable code are a wonderful weapon on the intelligence side, but I suspect that some tyrants, like the ones in Tel Aviv and at the central banks, will also require the other kind of defense.

I agree rights don’t exist in nature but they don’t exist in society either. At the end of the day, it comes back to power.

I think such a db is very dangerous, especially in the hands of a government thats swings like a pendulum. Dissenting voices could be easily identified and targeted for prosecution or whatever in circumstances like the one we find ourselves in today

Not only do they already have such a db, it is massive and knows everything about you.
