The sats symbol is actually the #bitcoin symbol.
Sats are the standard.
I agree with the sentiment but ₿1 = 100M sats. It’s the one “bit”-like aggregative unit that slipped through and cemented itself in the very earliest days of (or even before) price discovery
It's not cemented. I've gone from thinking in whole coin terms to sats terms over time just fine. Commerce will be run under a sats standard, not whole coins. Merchant solutions and spending wallets (phone ⚡) will all just display sats. It's all future coiners will ever be exposed to. They will only need one symbol and it will be the B.
Watch normies adopt bitcoin and change the world…
…and call the little guys “bits” with the ₿ symbol. 😂
Oh god
I’m not doubting people’s ability to shift mentality to sats, just your claim that sats will be called bitcoins. That would be fine and dandy though if it were to eventually happen - the #bitcoin symbol is iconic
I don’t even tell people about sats anymore. Way easier to orange pill when you don’t have to explain the abbreviation of the anonymous creator with a Japanese? name.
You can buy a bit of Bitcoin and it’s 1 millionth so not even the same unit. We don’t count our wealth in Pennie’s and what currency can’t spend it’s smallest denomination(fees)?
Weird how the later bitcoiners are stuck on sats and even confuse them as being names for the same unit when they’re not!
1 bit has always been 100 sats.
