They don't know how incredible it is that you can plug your code into a social network with just a websocket library and secp256k1.

It is absolutely incredible. Would be great to be able to do it with all of them.
You dont need a websocket, you just need http. Websockets are in fact the weakest part of the system. Nost is bigger than NostR. It has always been this way. What's new is not secp256k1, which has been around ages, but taproot and schnorr. What websockets add are realtime updates.
