oh btw, there was also two massive meteor incidents that made other massive scars on our planet
the great flood stories, which can be found all across the parts of the world it affected (north america and europe and north africa) led to many tales about giant fire dragons destroying the world and floods and the sky burning,
then not ever 1200 years later there was a really close, low angle massive object that streaked through the air, starting over northwest india and across the middle east and north africa, breaking up over the atlantic and causing several massive craters in several locations across north america, which became lakes in some cases
this one is why north africa has desert all across the north and why the middle east and egypt are deserts now - they used to be lush, subtropical lands prior to this, there is ample evidence in petrified wood and other things, as well as myths around it - atlantis was in fact in northwest africa, and there is very good reason to believe the great city was in the place now known as the eye of the desert... it was first hit by the floods and endless rain from the meteors 12800 years ago (or so) and then 1200 years later the great dragon that burned all of north africa and the middle east to a crisp turned what was already washed away, into washed away AND baked to a crisp
the place known as tartarus in many ancient greek stories was actually the main volcano of Tenerife in the canary islands, and Plato talks about Madeira, saying it had beautiful weather but constantly having whales getting beached and their giant carcasses rotting away... i can believe that, if you have seen the madeira coast, it's a very very steep slope upwards, i think actually this land mass constitutes one of the tallest structures from its lowest nearby point to the peak, it's 1.8km tall from sea level and something like another 4km downwards, and very very steep
it likely was known and people lived here dating all the way back to at least 15000 years ago, the portuguese government has played down the discoveries of evidence of pyramids here and on the azores and the canaries have them too
there is this official amnesia about what really happened - in fact north africa, europe and south america have been linked by human sea travellers for tens of thousands of years... the ridge that madeira, azores, cape verde and the canary islands are all along is a natural sea corridor and it is possible to navigate it on relatively primitive boats, and this has been proven in the last 100 years or so by several crazy mofos
