Trickle down is a smear - nobbody calls themselves trickle downers or promotes anything called trickle down

But the idea of cutting taxes to spur growth (which is what is usually meant) is an old one, implemented in modern USA by JFK, Reagan, W, Obama and Trump. The outcome has been increased tax receipts - ie the policy actually worked.

The idea is not "give the rich lots of money for doing nothing" the idea is "if we adopt less confiscatory income taxes, maybe people will put greater effort into producing goods and services for others, in order to reap a higher income"
