Huh. TIL that the same bible verse that prohibits mixed-fibre clothing also prohibits sowing more than one type of seed in the same field. I wonder how that is squared with things like three sisters planting?
How strict is “field”? Can you have tomatoes surrounded by marigolds? What about in ornamental gardens?
Well, if you were planting in the Middle East when that book was written, you wouldn’t have tomatoes.
I’m not sure the people credited with the early farming revolution were that good as farmers.

All I remember is that if you are chaste and attractive enough and you glean the leftover grain in a rich man's field, you're bound to get noticed right and proper, and not just be a side-chick or mistress.
