= FLOSS

Why do you think there is two differnt acronyms for it?

Richard Stallman et all became annoyed with Linux distros that shipped proprietary drivers and software in their stack, thus becoming tainted.

FOSS is used within the Linux community to denote the pursuit of "full stack OSS", from drivers to eventually even hardware.

It's a honorable and important ambition.

Would it be true to say that not all distro's have this ambition?

Stop leading me and make your point.

You assume that I have one.

If code is free speech and freedom isn’t always free, then open-source software must stay libre—giving people the freedom to use, modify, and share it—for freedom of speech in tech to truly work. Free software should be about liberty, not just being gratis.

All I know is I am so solidly behind the nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg team. If I had the $1,000 for the Legend tier, I would gladly support them with it. But I am supporting them with 4 Premium accounts for myself and family and am happy to support freedom tech and those who make it great. Not being free of charge makes being free a greater experience. 🫡
