In love with Specialized! Budget?
Not much, but put together something like that.:

Budget? Today, it’s hard to get a bad bike (technically speaking) for a certain amount, only a bad decision for your use case (ie don’t buy a enduro or free ride bike if you intend to ride let’s say 80% “normal” on roads)
Where I live there are many mountain routes and also bike lanes in the city. My idea is to take advantage of both possibilities. I want to put together something like that;
- 29’ tires
- hydraulic suspension
- 1x12 transmission
- aluminum caudrante
- disc brakes with 2 pistons
U have good dealers around? The techs u listed should be common standard on any showroom floor… As sizing is one / the most important issue I recommend a dealer who offers a test ride and can consult & give after sale service…
Thank you for the advice. I’m evaluating that with dealer who is going to build my bike.
Hard tail, carbon. Specialized epic. Perfect XC capabilities, easy on roads and capable of the rough stuff.
Can buy used for <2k usd.
They have an aluminum version is called something else, a little heavier but the same bike and less $$.

Something similar to this one I’m putting together, but less expensive. For now, to start

Check out State Bicycles. I got my gravel bike from them over a year ago. Amazing quality. Inexpensive components when you need to do repairs. Best bang for your fiat buck.
