Gawking? It's rude because people only stare at things that are abnormal.

So starting at someone is essential making them feel or you saying there's something odd about them

I agree, it's also seen as aggressive because of this I think, almost like it's a statement

This is a statement!

If someone stares like that... run!

yup

I stare at normal things too wth man?

Idk most the time they think u looking at the tits. Or if u stare at a guy too long it's hostility or queer eye. If a guy stares at me my first thought is what's this guys beef his stern stare is angry. Better get my fist ready.

That's how it goes!

I agree especially between dudes, it's seen as aggressive. Especially staring someone in the eyes.

Honestly I don't see something in that. But in my country, it is irritating to stare someone for a long time, till the person realizes you're looking at them.

Why: it makes someone looks irritating.

That's a first for me.

I think it's like that in most cultures, where are you from out of curiosity?

I don't know for sure, but the assumption is that the person being stared at feels like a part of them is being identified as odd/abnormal/strange ..

"Stop looking at my *insert body part one has a complex about*"

Regarding the person doing the staring, I think it's a primal thing. Almost like one is still on the lookout for anything that may harm our tribe.

I agree it's very primal, almost instinctual, you see it in wild animals too, they react to being stared down.

No it’s not rude. Let’s normalize “Freedom of sight”.

It's our God given right to stare!
