Strange cultural question:

Apparently in America some people won’t talk to other people if they have the wrong phone and that these phone snobs can tell by the messages?

Please could someone in the know explain this weird social custom to me?

You can tell when someone's not using iMessage or Google messages because the likes had shit don't work.

I go a step further and sending to a group SMS doesn't even work for me 😂

Wait so people still use SMS there too? Surely that’s too primitive? Here no one uses SMS unless it’s companies or spammers or scammers 😂

What do you guys use? I'm a social outcast by my own making, at least in the field of instant messaging because I dislike it lol

I don't really know what people use. I've seen Discord, iMessage, Whatsapp, Facebook. Barely any Signal, but that's what I prefer. My family is on Whatsapp.

I wish I could just cancel my phone plan and go silent.link only.

Practically everyone here uses WhatsApp, even businesses etc it’s so 🤮🤮 I also use Signal but not everyone even knows what it is - sigh.

I love the silent link idea and am looking into it 😁

Pffft being a social outcast today is no biggie, look at the social in crowd these days… 🤣🤣🤣 it’s ridiculous!
