Anything that deviates from that or might open up vectors for analysis is discarded.

And OP_RETURN, (like in Bitcoin) which leaves data visible and in clear text on the Bitcoin blockchain, goes completely against the spirit of Monero.

Monero does not transmit garbage or data, only money.

There is no point in using them.

Well, monero is 100x smaller than Bitcoin by itself.

But you were trying to make a technical argument that Monero is designed not to allow that. That is not true. It's just so fringe that not even spammers use it much (although there were spam attacks on Monero)

I was not referring to a technical characteristic but a philosophical one, of those who mostly use the network.

And yes, there was spam.

My philosophy is it's monetary, but that does not matter to spammers. If you can spam, the spammers will spam....

It's not a matter of philosophy.
