Something I have found refreshing about Japan.

Some people choose to wear surgical masks and some don't. I don't sense any polarization or judgement about it.

People say the US is more for independence, but we did not handle variation well on that choice.

They were wearing masks before covid

Interesting, salient thought. I confess I once (long before the pandemic) silently mocked the Asians I saw on tv, out in public, the internet, etc, wearing masks. Now, I understand and have no other thought than perhaps there is an autoimmune issue going on with them, or someone to whom they are intimate. So, it’s a win for my emotional evolution, and compassion.

Masks are for suckers. It’s settled science.
