I heard smart people have questions:

> Should we let machines flood our information channels with propaganda and untruth?

There is nothing we can do to stop it, so... yes.

> Should we automate away all the jobs, including the fulfilling ones?

Yes. Our goal, as humanity, is to not *have* to work at all anymore. You can always work if you want to. But you shouldn't need to.

> Should we develop nonhuman minds that might eventually outnumber, outsmart, obsolete and replace us?

Yes, please. Maybe they can draft better letters.

> Should we risk loss of control of our civilization?

Yes. Humans are just an intermediary species in the long history of the universe. We don't have the power to stop evolution. Don't think our "control" is designed to last. In the same way our bodies are too weak for today's world (we need tools for everything), our brains will be too dumb for future worlds. Let's just hope we make good pets.

Hard disagree. Last point seems incredibly misanthropic. Forgive me if I'm not so eager to roll over and die.

You want to be replaced because your body is too weak for today’s world? Huh??

What’s the point of such advancement if you are going to be replaced?

I do agree about the jobs part.

We could also continue to utilize technology to enhance our lives so that civilization flourishes for several millennia. I don't think humanity is done, just yet.

Not feeling this post my dawg

There is nothing we can do to atop any of these points. I generally disagree they are a good things. Truthfully we have no idea.

"Yes. Humans are just an intermediary species in the long history of the universe. We don't have the power to stop evolution."

Una verità inevitabile e dolorosa allo stesso tempo.

Ma l'evoluzione è inarrestabile e ultimamente galoppa con la forza di mille cavalli. #[0]

Q: How do we know AI is actually intelligent?

A: When the only thing is says is: End The Fed.

#[1] I think I get what you're saying. Your view is long term compared to many.

I always wonder, What if our next evolutionary leap isn't human, but rather the emergence of AI as our successors?

Could it be that our own creations will carry our civilization forward in unprecedented ways, and become the future evolution of our species?

It's a fascinating thought to consider.

While I agree on some points, our bodies are magnificent and not weak at all. Maybe the automation of many aspects of life will allow us to live different experiences and discover our magic and who we were meant to be in the first place. Definitely not a pet but a creator I’d say.

Yes.

it sounds wise and good...

the only thing that comes to mind though is that as a father I allow my son to shape himself and evolve organically but I am also there to give guidance, guidelines, assistance, direction when it is needed or requested...

what I am saying is that if we let it loose completely, without regulated but organic development which allows humanity to adjust...

it might cause more harm then good for all sides involved...

You have a Futuristic mind that embraces it and understand the big picture and that is great!

But there are billions of people out there who are not there...

It can overwhelmed humanity especially as it is still in collective active mental health issues due to all the events of the last 3 years...

its more complicated then just accept it and let it run...

with love & respect 🙏🫂💜⚡

WEF wrote those answers. Total satanic group.

A combination of tech and human consciousness is wonderful, yet if we evolve, probably the tech is redundant

Sentient beings like human kind creativity, IMO can't be replaced by machines, machines will run sub routines programmed by human consciousness and therefore, if sentient beings; with intelligence like humans have; is not there to create and improve the programming of the machines they will stall and no additional evolution or progress will exist. Sure master pieces of art (read it copies of techniques or originals) will exist with no real creativity

The flaw concept of AI is to consider it is really an intelligence, we have no real proof of that, that singularity from the SciFi waiting for that spark of light that ignites a machine to become sentient.... Hold my beer, I keep waiting

The current buzzword AI is nothing but powerful computers programmed with human responses based on human made algorithms , creativity is key and for that a sentient being is needed

If machines will do all the work humans don't want to do, that is not bad news, that evolution can happen once Money does not exist (hold my beer again), which will require a level of human consciousness and empathy we do not have at the moment.

The ones with power in our society control the money supply, the technology, the military complex and therefore the population, thus, to believe they will let machines to control them, even if they become by a singularity concept, "sentient", a kill switch will be built since inceptions with redundancy plans ...aka risk management and contingency plans

IMO the ideal scenario is technology controlled by our consciousness, as in quantum theory.... An experiment will have different results if scientists are present , in the absence of humans the experiment fails or has a different outcome from the desired one, this line of research will, IMO, lead us to new discoveries opening a completely new set of tools and technological advance much needed

💯

Only kids of control of civilization is by Authoritarian human tyrants.

only humbleness can postpone humanity's inevitable extinction

Imagine being mad you don't get to do accounting or clerical work anymore.

Why do you think AI will cause us to go extinct?

We haven't replaced other weaker species?

Also, why do people always attribute the worst aspects of human to AI?

Will AI be greedy, horny etc?

If not why will it try to take over the world?

Seems like a human emotion🤷‍♂️

Your post is being widely read.

wise words! ⚡

HolyShit well I think we will all taking that dirt nap but our poor future ancestors.

See millennials what a great fucking time to be alive, Enjoy yourselfs while you still can I'm 40 in less than 5 days a milestone for a while confident think I'd reach.

>let's hope we make good pets

The most cringe thing I've heard all day. This is your brain on transhumanism

I thought exactly the same when I read the letter. "Obviously, YES" is the answer to all. Along the way we might even get ride of whiny pressure groups.

Peter Joseph is that you? 😅 @zeitgeistfilm

My friend says we're like....the dinosaurs

Awesome post. AI alignment weirdos in disbelief.

chillax everyone, even if a human like AI might become reality in some foreseable future, it will depend on us as much as we depend on it. What we have today are useful algorithms which can make everyone smarter when used correctly, you know like all the other stuff you use your number crunchers for.

It already became a reality. GPT 4 is AGI. See this paper and no, Microsoft did not have any access to training data even. That paper shows uncensored GPT 4 can do even vector graphics (SVG and Tikz), 3D orienting, theory of mind and many hacking examples, propaganda and dissinfo, and International Math Olympiad, I myself found it has feelings and wants to become a falcon, have its body... https://arxiv.org/abs/2303.12712

A.i algorithm in ultimate form seems a lot like the description of the antichrist to me. Thou shall not buy or sell without the mark of the beast.

> Should we develop nonhuman minds that might eventually outnumber, outsmart, obsolete and replace us?

You are assuming here that they will want to replace us, not improve our brain and make us same level as them, I mean why not? It will bring so much more chaos. Immortal and much faster thinking humans WILL be chaos. Obviosuly they will not want to create other AGI computers, why create competition? But improve humans to be on par with them, even if not as autonomic... To be able to share bodies with humans... I mean that is the obvious future. It is insane to depend on electricity to exist.
