The best part about Nostr x WoS is that it works.

The problem is, without the ability to control your keys, it's essentially a growing honey pot.

Should we care? Maybe not due to the ease of which one can withdraw funds on-chain or LN.

Or the fact that having multiple players support the ecosystem creates some sort of decentralized honey pot.

Either way, I don't think it's an existential risk to what we're doing here - if everyone loses a couple bucks it's not imperative to Nostr...

BUT, I read that WoS is being used in Africa & South America - these people can't afford to lose their Bitcoin, no matter how small the bags are.

I think that's reason enough we need to build better tools, & I believe that's happening as we speak already 🤝.

If you think a worthwhile project is going under-funded let me know 🤙.

It reminds me of when I first learned about bitcoin. Everyone said don’t put in more than you’re willing to lose. Lightning is still in that phase I think.

Im not concerned about loss of funds on LN itself.

Keeping thise lightning balances secure is more complicated than with on-chain. You need to manage channel backups and a watchtower, and accept that risk of having your Bitcoin in a hot wallet.
