Usually the arguments by here are along the lines of you might hurt somebody's feelings and I just kind of laugh at that.
I might be an asshole though.
Although I will say even in the case of true human suffering, like Uno pointed out, even that can be funny under the right context because a lot of what I think comedians do is they point out things that you might not necessarily think about. It might sound dumb, but there's been a lot of social issues that have been pointed out to me and I've been made aware of due to the fact that a comedian made a joke about it first and then you actually think about it and you're like, oh wait, like the way he said it is funny, but that's actually really fucked up. Facts comedy is all about shinning a light on topics that are hard to talk about otherwise, the people that see the most fucked up things, soldiers, doctors etc always tend to have the darkest humor in order to cope with it.
