Dm reporter is doing everyone a favour exposing the fact that that data is publicly available.

Nostr is new, DMs as they are implemented now probably shouldn't exist. Better alternatives will likely emerge. Maybe the current DMs will in the future only serve as key exchanges and folks will post public notes only intelligible to the key owner.
