I don't really care about Navalny, but I would like to see an improvement in the level of medicine in Russian prisons. Unfortunately, things are not very good there, and in general "free" Russian medicine is not getting any better.

On some large-scale indicators like "infant mortality", perhaps things are not so bad, but otherwise everything else is terrible. Any Russian polyclinic is a set for a disaster movie.

Remind me why we need to imprison anybody?

If you want to keep a detention center, for lesser crimes, sure. Crimes of circumstance (robbery, theft due to basic need. So long as no one is assaulted - fine).

Anyone committing major crimes.... why are we wasting money on incarceration? Anyone committing major crimes multiple times? Literally a bullet costs less than a dollar IN EVERY currency.

That's my not so humble opinion.

I am strongly opposed to the death penalty. I do not believe that the state has the right to kill a person, unless it is guided by considerations of humanity.

About prisons... Unfortunately, the current level of society does not allow us to develop alternative methods of correcting criminals 😒.

That's because they want criminals.

And won't say the quiet part out loud - most criminals are NOT criminals out of desperation.
