I'm going to just try it out. I have a real computer now, so I'm no longer trapped on my phone.

I finally started using a laptop for nostr recently too and wow do devs sure support it better

Linux?

What about it?

Yup 📈

People seem to recommend #gossip on #linux but I prefer pwas. Easier to add easier to remove, more choice.

Makes noStrudel much gooder.

It is nice relay for desktop. You can also probably try using "Hub feature" and your local relay events can be accessed publicly through

wss://hub.nostr-relay.app

like a reverse tunnel sevice.

I can't find any instructions for using that.

That's indeed a problem! Because I don't like writing documentation, haha.

Well, don't we all? 🤣

#asknostr

Having trouble with certificates, I think. No idea.

ANYBODY????

Yes, It is probably package issue.

I haven't tried using its deb package but i can run normally portable AppImage version in Ubuntu 22.04 . Maybe you can also try AppImage version. Usually most distro support running AppImage directly (double click to run)

Otherwise:

```
chmod +x /path/to/nostr-relay-tray.AppImage
/path/to/nostr-relay-tray.AppImage
```

I tried installing a Debian virtual machine. I also can't open nostr-relay-tray, haha, but there are no error messages. I hope I can find a solution. 😭

Is there a browser within your repo? I think I saw something in there? Debian can only deal well with ESR versions and my Firefox doesn't open some websites, when I have more than one version on the machine. Complains about certificates.

Yes, an Electron application includes a Chromium engine and a Node.js environment. There might be some issues with the certificate configuration on your computer : (

This is probably it, then. Everything I could find suggested it was a Chrome error.

I don't know what you are trying to install, but... Not a good idea installing packages out of the repositories. Read what frankendebian is, because this is what you will surely have. Also this is another reason to use the other hardware we were saying. Until then you should try this kind of "nuclear" tests in a virtual machine.
