Yeah, I'm running a Lightning node too — just got it up and running recently after putting it off for a while. It's way more user-friendly now than it used to be, especially with tools like Umbrel, RaspiBlitz, or Start9. If you're thinking about giving it another shot, I'd say go for it — the community is helpful, there are tons of guides, and it's pretty fun watching your little piece of the network grow. ⚡😄

In my experience running a lightning node was a great way to learn about the lighting network, but I didn't want to dedicate enough time and energy to really become an expert in it.

Doing that requires an understanding of the flows and which nodes are valuable to connect to. It's not impossible, but it's a skill I will leave to others.

Also get a PSU to make sure your node doesn't lose power suddenly if the grid goes down. It can cause issues with the node. That's how I lost mine initially. Best of luck 🤙

My node didn’t survive the period of force closures during high fees aka ordinooooools. PTSD is healing gradually 🤣🤣🤣

Yeah I'm running LND, standalone. Been working well for quite a while.

Haha! Hey k3tan! Thanks for answering! I watched yr vids back in 2018 to get my first node running! I'm thinking of a standalone too. Did u try doing it w CLN also?

I used to run both CLN and LND for a long time, but I'm LND only now. No real reason for one over the other, I just wanted to manage the one.

yep. Running bitcoin core + CLN + https://github.com/daywalker90/clnaddress to receive zaps.
