Baltimore bridge collapse: Divers find two bodies in submerged truck

==========

The bodies of two people have been recovered from a red pickup truck, which was submerged under the water where the Baltimore bridge collapsed. Eight construction workers were on the bridge when a ship struck it, plunging them into the waters below. Two workers were rescued on the day, but the search continues for the other four. The four victims recovered from the bridge collapse have been identified as Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes, Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera, Miguel Luna, and Maynor Suazo Sandoval. Divers are no longer able to navigate the waters due to concrete and debris, so sonar scans are being used to locate other vehicles that may contain bodies. The cargo vessel involved in the collision has over 1.5 million gallons of fuel oil and lube oil on board, as well as hazardous materials in 56 of its cargo containers. The US Navy plans to use barges with heavy lift cranes to remove parts of the bridge from the water. Investigations into the ship's failure and the bridge collapse are underway. The bridge collapse could have a significant impact on global supply chains and the US economy, with an estimated loss of up to $15 million per day until the shipping lane is reopened. Efforts are being made to design a replacement bridge as quickly as possible to restore operations at the port.
