Cats killed two of my weed plants. And continued to shit in my garden last night, even after applying the repellent sprays. So apparently those don't do shit.

Pre-caffeinated brain is telling me to go kinetic diplomacy on their ass. But my rational mind will probably kick in after I have coffee. It's weird they went after the weed plants. This is like the first time doing that in three or four years though, so that's a new development.

A neighborhood littered with feral cats is apparently not the best place to try to grow anything.

Feral cats are a menace. They breed and make the problem worse.

Open season if they are indeed feral. Are you Sure its not some other nocturnal creature?

Wrap with chicken wire. Probs plastic mesh barrier will work too.

I’ve heard burying forks with the tines up can keep them away.

I’ve always seen cats hate the smell of citrus; maybe a citronella plant or other citrus scented plant can help?

Yeah, an old lady told me about that at my local hardware store when I was looking for the repellent sprays. I have some chicken wire, so I think what I'm going to do this evening is lay it down flat on the bed. I'm going to have to go get some like garden staples or something like that, but then use wire cutters to get every few little bits of chicken wire and face it upward and make it pointy.

Apparently the goal is just not to make the soil soft and inviting and easy for them to scratch in, so this will be that.

Maybe you can use catnip so they focus in consuming the catnip and not in destroying your thing
