There is a cost to open a Lightning channel. With npub.cash you can receive non kyc zaps on Nostr. Those zaps are stored in the Nostr relays. It’s very easy to withdraw to an ecash wallet. And not have to purchase a channel….

So for privacy, and onboarding new users … offline payments…. Before you say just use lightning maybe do a little research?
