The idea that "we are the government" in democracies is a logical trap. Majority rule doesn’t make expropriation voluntary.

Fact: "the government" in fact is a corporation. Any gov agency is also another corporation in itself, registered with a DUNS number. And can be checked online.

Check this book. TLDR: 170 million deaths of people by their governments, and it's an old book
