No one grants me freedom, for I am a free man. Intrinsic value doesn't exist. #Bitcoin Remnant

NDK? He doesn't even have a changelog, so he releases a new version and you don't even know what the changes are unless you want to review each commit... Documentation unmaintained, issues unmaintained...

I didn't know applesauce, so I'll give it a look, but I've been giving a look to SNSTR, and I cannot wait to migrate to it, as it seems like it's a 1000x improvement over ndk/nostr-tools...

And what about libraries used to build nostr apps? They change function interfaces every other day in minor version increments... It's like an eternal v0.0.0.1...

Hey nostr:nprofile1qyxhwumn8ghj7e3h0ghxjme0qyd8wumn8ghj7urewfsk66ty9enxjct5dfskvtnrdakj7qpql2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqta478g

Is there any way to know what are the latest changes in NDK? It feels dangerous to update to use new versions of libraries whose source code has not been published...

> to them it seems that Bitcoin is a right wing project

The problem is much broader than that. I've been trying to explain Bitcoin to adults and children for some years already, and I've noticed that for people to understand Bitcoin, they must first have to understand the problems Bitcoin solves.

Because of the indoctrination people have been subjected for all their lives, undestanding that somebody taking 60%+ of what you earn is a bad thing may sound like a "right wing", but it's not. Your government taking 60%+ of what you earn is plain slavery, and you have to understand that prior to understanding Bitcoin, or you'll get the usual "yeah, but with Bitcoin you can avoid paying taxes, and that's wrong".

So yeah, it's very difficult to explain or understand.

Remember that now in nostr:nprofile1qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq3camnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3dwp6kytnnv4kkjum0dshxgetk9uqzpytvkhls05a4rnhh76mt0a28nvgqrdqpcr5z2k8wrg39qnra2p7fw30unn you can Zap the verifiers of your favourite Bitcoin wallet.

For example, let's say you use nostr:nprofile1qyt8wumn8ghj7ct5d3shxtnwdaehgu3wd3skueqpzemhxue69uhky6t5vdhkjmn9wgh8xmmrd9skcqpqxnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2s7szjpe wallet. So you see in X or Nostr that v0.11.4 has been released. You ideally do this:

1- Go to WalletScrutiny.com

2- Search for Zeus. Then choose Android (because you shouldn't be using iOS...)

3- You see that v0.11.4 has been verified to be reproducible from sources by nostr:nprofile1qyshwumn8ghj7etcwpjkuumfwejj6un9d3shjtnxd9shg6npvchxxmmdqy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uqzq8u7237z7vv5yc3m3tgaqacn9qhgvs8a3n68f60hnuv2e690y9hdlwntz9 , so you click the verification for that version

4- You check if the verification has the quality you would expect

5- You Zap Danny some sats to thank him for the time spent verifying

6- Optionally you can follow his steps to reproduce the wallet yourself and create a new verification.

If you find that your preferred wallet doesn't have a verification yet, you can push the maintainers to do the verification, or do it yourself if you have the skills. Maybe you can earn some sats when other users Zap your verifications!

This week, nunchuk_io@nunchuk.io released Nunchuck v1.71.2. In just a few hours, the first reviewer tested that the build was reproducible from sources.

Before installing a new wallet or updating yours, don't forget to check nostr:nprofile1qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq3camnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3dwp6kytnnv4kkjum0dshxgetk9uqzpytvkhls05a4rnhh76mt0a28nvgqrdqpcr5z2k8wrg39qnra2p7fw30unn

This is a reminder to use nostr:nprofile1qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq3camnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3dwp6kytnnv4kkjum0dshxgetk9uqzpytvkhls05a4rnhh76mt0a28nvgqrdqpcr5z2k8wrg39qnra2p7fw30unn before downloading a wallet to your phone or desktop computer. You'll learn if it has any red flag, check if users have found the binaries to be reproducible, or if it's fully fake, like in the iOS Sparrow case from a few months ago.

I don't know. It's been like years without listening to one...

I would like to, but I mostly agree with him. Where is the cypherpunk spirit? Even Adam Back is shilling MSTR...

We needed Freedom Money, and there are just a few small use-cases that can give you a little bit of freedom. For the most part, what we have is at most an inflation hedge, and the saddest part is that people seem happy about it.

People moved to ETFs, MSTR, or to develop chat apps in all ways and forms.

So what's left for us freedom lovers? ecash which is like 100 steps backwards from Bitcoin?

Hey Nathan!

Do we have an "oficial" nip for this Attestations spec?

So a lot of people seem to have the hope that Trump will pardon the Samourai Wallet developers.

While waiting for the Storm verdict, I took some time to read through the White House Digital Asset Report to see what this administration thinks of financial privacy, and my guys - if you still believe that the Trump WH is in *any* capacity friendly to these undertakings, you are in for a very rude awakening.

nostr:nevent1qqs8l0xmfnwuce7unyqyk2wtlpps0pq8p2wdyj9s9c4ajawgh35z7csfxfmx2

Effectively, the White House urges FinCEN to deem *all* privacy measures in digital assets a “primary money laundering concern” under the PATRIOT Act.

This includes:

-> single use addresses, wallets and accounts

-> swapping between networks & chains

-> mixers, obviously

-> “pooling” or “aggregating” cryptocurrencies from multiple wallets

Many will now say: oh, but there’s so much good language in the report as well, like the protection of self-custody.

That’s true, but the protection of self-custody is contingent on the *lawful exchange* of assets between users.

That’s why the White House additionally urges Congress to *expand the PATRIOT Act* and *amend the BSA to cover “DeFi” services*.

To ensure compliance in “DeFi,” the White House suggests the implementation of digital identities, that would tie all of your transaction history to your name, so that “DeFi” services have the power to approve transactions.

Even when implemented with ZKProofs, as the White House suggests, this would effectively turn a permissionless system into a permissioned one.

I know we live in the age of celebrating all the Bitcoin wins, but sometimes things that glitter are just a massive pile of shit, my dudes.

How strange... a politician lying and dissapointing his voters by working FOR the System? No way!

Who's managing that? WalletScrutiny should be there. It seems he registered WalletScrutiny.org because he had a dissagreement with them a few years ago...

I was thinking on this phrase: "the single best advice you can give friends interested in bitcoin is to download a nostr app so they can feel it first hand".

I think it's freaking wrong. But also I cannot believe what the Bitcoin scene as turned into, so what do I know... I just don't understand anything by now.

Bitcoin? Of course...

Telling people to install a new app, that's a chat app, where people only chat about nostr and cashu ("what's cashu? Is it Bitcoin?") to tell them that they can send and receive money pressing icons, where the people that you want to send the money to need to also need to install a chat app and "create an identity" -vs- "Just install Phoenix/Zeus and use the Send/Receive buttons".

Show how Bitcoin can solve their pain points, by going to a twitter-like social network and watching how people send $0.0000001?

I know the answer, it was for the ecash people...

Is ecash (Cashu, Fedi) Wrapped Bitcoin?

⚡️

Is that a new place?

Creo que el punto de no retorno ya fue cruzado hace tiempo...

Que un presidente del gobierno se atreva a salir en público a decir eso, es que ya no hay máscaras. En fin, es lo que hay.

Another good recommendation by nostr:nprofile1qyfhwumn8ghj7cn0wd68ytn0dekxjmn99uqsuamnwvaz7tmwdaejumr0dshsz9thwden5te0wfjkccte9ejxzmt4wvhxjme0qythwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnwdaehgu3wvfskuep0qy28wumn8ghj7am0wshxummnw3ezumn9wshszymhwden5te0wahhgtn4w3ux7tn0dejj7qpqklkk3vrzme455yh9rl2jshq7rc8dpegj3ndf82c3ks2sk40dxt7qp8s536 is the book "Lodging of Wayfaring Men". Just finished it, and I love it!

Well... we did exactly that with Jack, so why not do the same again? Is this guy uglier or something?
