Perhaps that is not relevant to most people, but sending money abroad, buying online privately, or sending/receiving from your contacts could be. Depends on who you are talking to but Bitcoin can help remove friction from all the above situations.

Bitcoin? Of course...
Telling people to install a new app, that's a chat app, where people only chat about nostr and cashu ("what's cashu? Is it Bitcoin?") to tell them that they can send and receive money pressing icons, where the people that you want to send the money to need to also need to install a chat app and "create an identity" -vs- "Just install Phoenix/Zeus and use the Send/Receive buttons".
What you tell people depends on the context and what their needs are, why are you assuming that's my advice?
For people that make their living by producing content online the Bitcoin integration in nostr and the properties of nostr are relevant, for others it's not.
The point is that you show them how it can help them instead of talking about it, and I think we agree on that.
I was thinking on this phrase: "the single best advice you can give friends interested in bitcoin is to download a nostr app so they can feel it first hand".
I think it's freaking wrong. But also I cannot believe what the Bitcoin scene as turned into, so what do I know... I just don't understand anything by now.
A cult of ngu slaves and wannabes in most cases. Most big bag holders don’t really care and not in touch with reality. Gone are the days where we did not want any banks or governments to join … but now they beg for them to come and pump their bags... Good old days of Andreas Antonopoulos and top nostr:npub1lxktpvp5cnq3wl5ctu2x88e30mc0ahh8v47qvzc5dmneqqjrzlkqpm5xlc which are true legends and not the clown show this is becoming . But in Shuken we are positive as our ethos always was that everybody will “choose the level of sovereignty” they want and and or deserve. So the focus is on keep building and focus on what truly makes you happy , regardless of the noise driven by wannabe “freedom fighters” influencers…
I tried to argue in favor of the broader "Show, don't tell" argument and not that specific advice. However, it's a good way to show a practical and quick use that many people can understand right away.
