I don’t think he’s the goat so I say he’s overrated. I’d take Kobe over him. His highlight reel is much more impressive. Show a highlight reel of Kobe and Jordan to someone who doesn’t know anything about basketball and they will say that Kobe is better. Same thing with LeBron. Jordan’s era was incredibly weak and they were expanding the league by adding new teams with bad players. It’s just the media that creates these narratives that end up in debates. People like controversy and that makes money.

Some arguments for why LeBron is the goat:

LeBron is more clutch. He has the most buzzer beater shots in the playoffs at 5. No one else has as many as he does. LeBrons career average in elimination games is 34 11 and 8 while Jordan’s average is 31 8 and 7.

LeBron has played against 31 hall of famers in the finals while Jordan has only played against 10.

The common argument people will now make is that Jordan has 6 rings and LeBron only had 4 but this argument is silly and Jordan has even disputed it by saying that bill russell isn’t better than him for having 11 rings. So rings aren’t a good argument.

Jordan’s best season he averaged 4 more points than LeBron but averaged two less assists and two less rebounds. They both won season and finals mvp that year. So their peak year were similar but the rest of their careers were different. LeBron is still dominating at 40. We’ve never seen that before.

And LeBron is the all time leader in points which is what Jordan was best known for.

People just don’t like LeBron for reasons outside of basketball like broadcasting the decision to go to Miami so they won’t consider that he may actually be the best player we’ve ever seen this far.

Those are all good and fine, but unless you were around during his era watching the games, and knew what he meant to the culture, it's going to be tough to compare.

MJ is like bitcoin, these other guys might be faster, bigger (bigger blocks), more physical (private), but they just don't compare. MJ & bitcoin have a level of je ne sais quoi the rest don't.

Bro these arguments have nothing to do with talent 😭😂

Culture? Whaaaaa? Come on why do you really hate LeBron so much 🥺

Affecting culture has everything to do with talent, because talent = respect. Lebron is a cultural normie.

The NBA affects culture today more than ever. This is clear in the number of fans and amount of revenue generated. The NBA has made basketball more popular globally than ever before. If impact on culture is what makes you the best, then LeBron and Kobe are easily better than Jordan 🤷‍♂️

My aunt was a peace corps volunteer in Mali Africa. When she would tell the people in her villages that she grew up in Chicago, all they would want to ask her about was Michael Jordan. They didn't know where to find Illinois on a map, but knew who MJ was. You are seriously mistaken.

He was a worldwide sensation.

This is anecdotal. I’m talking about the entire world. The NBA has a lot more international players now. They grew up watching LeBron. Giannis said he didn’t even know who Jason Kidd was when he was coaching the bucks lmao.

Trading anecdotes 🤝

Lmaoooo 🤝

Set up a lightning wallet so I can zap you sir 😂

LeBron is a beast, no one would dispute that.
