Millenial here (35), resigned myself to the fact I will never receive a pension despite ridiculous tax burden.
I'm in that lucky spot where I get hit with a 60% tax rate (and lose access to all child care credits) so if I cancel my pension contributions I lose the employer contribution as well as more than half my contribution to taxes.
Although I don't like paper Bitcoin I have just decided to throw it all in a SIPP and smash buy MSTR, hopefully it wont be seized and it'll be worth something in 20+ years when I start to draw it down.
Despite being a high earner, the mortgage on a 1930s house outside of London is 2/3rds of my take home pay. Add council tax, bills, etc for 2 adults and 2 kids, we live a pretty modest life.
Britain is completely broken, I have no idea how anyone my age on an average salary can afford to function.
