What did I miss? Who is banning what in what country? 🐶🐾🤔
New AML regulations coming in the EU targeting, from my understanding, anonymized payments to "hosted" wallet providers. Doesn't sound like a direct ban on "unhosted wallets" (stupid term) but would have implications on p2p payments.
Ok, so I assume they mainly target ETF/exchanges (hosted wallets) and not self custody of the keys. I wonder if it impacts LN and WoS/Alby wallets 🐶🐾🤔
I haven't seen the actual proposed regulations but it sounds as if it could based on this response from one of the Parliament members who opposed it:
