My uncle asked about bitcoin and taxes, and my reply;

I think taxes are the single best tool for bitcoin to be adopted as a medium of échange. If you think about it the harder they make it to covert btc to fiat the less people will do it and the more people will accept it directly as payment.

Plus if they declare bitcoin money then they can legally tax it like money or income, so out of the frying pan into the fire as far as tax law.

Ultimately the psychopaths like myself are never giving the gov bitcoin and they will prob shoot themselves in the foot by trying to block the fiat exchanges and create a bitcoin circular economy
