Just wanted to pass a warning to anyone here who owns domains, as this happened to me.

I bought a domain and had it pointing to GitHub but hadn’t used it yet, apparently since they are using public namesevers anybody can claim and use it, even as you still own it.

They use a bunch of these domains in hopes of generating web traffic and leads to some scam, in this case it was a list of foreign websites for running slot games online.

In my case this wasn’t a problem, but if you have a domain that connects to brand name, I could see this being a problem, so just thought I’d share.

This has been a common tactic for ages. Nothing new.

Yes, and despite this people get caught, it may not be new to you but it most definitely will be new to someone. So the OP deserves credit for bringing it to attention of others that it may be new too.
