they will stay if they find value in what they’re reading/viewing, not because they can “like” something.
Discussion
Disagree, this is meant to be fun and create a fun atmosphere. If they cannot get any value out of feeling good wether it be a ‘like’ or whatever then they wont stay or engage.
Agreed. I think the Only Zap setting should be on the client rather than the profile, so for example if I want to zap only, the setting would only hide the like buttons on notes for me, not everyone on Damus or other clients who support this in the future.
Seems to me that keeps everyone happy since it doesn’t “force” zap only on your followers.
I get your point, and I agree with you to a certain extent. But I think right now unlearning the meaning of a ‘like’ and rather focus on the content will improve discussions.
I don’t think ‘likes’ are meaningless but I want to unlearn my focus on how many ‘likes’ I have on my posts, and rather focus on the content and discussions 🤙
#[4] I would really like to debate this further with you, I will be on a nest chat now if you wish to pop in so we can talk about this further
I agree that people should be able control their own information stream-I do think for new people, the etiquette on conversation engagement is not that clear on here and people may leave for that reason.
I like what you said here 👇

It’s all about positive incentives and let the people decide freely what they want to do and what features they want to use.
