I find it more amusing than troubling. I definitely put some musicians on a pedestal and they’re some of the most flawed humans out there.
‘no more heroes anymore’ as the old song used to go, half a century ago… as much as a proposition as an observation…
but followers still like to follow… seemingly whatever makes them feel ‘sovereign’ and/or ‘seen’ at this point… ?
Yeah I get it, confirmation bias which we’re all prone to or at least I know I certainly am. Zap culture is quite odd really, or maybe perception of value is.
A couple of times I’ve taken a meme from elsewhere and got zaps instantly, despite putting in zero effort, other times I might think I’ve made something interesting, using time of which I’ve not much left and got no reaction at all.
At the same time, I’ll give people money because they said something odd. Imagining that happening in real life is hilarious.
