Reporting back: the class went well. Got people asking good questions, most people got their nodes working before they left and the ones who didn't either had to leave right away or were going to put it together worth their tools at home that they are accustomed to.

Overall, people seemed excited to go home and try it out and thankful that I was willing to do the class.

I might do another one if there're is additional interest, but it will not be sponsored with grant money, so people will have to pay for the hardware.
