I'm disinclined to save in a 401(k). How do I know tax rates won't be higher when I can start withdrawing in 2047? How do I know they won't raise the withdrawal age?
Other countries have raided retirement accounts to make up for gov't shortfalls. The US won't be raiding mine.
Especially when you can see clearly that the US is on unsustainable fiscal path. Tax rates will have to be very high by 2047 for anyone with significant resources
Right! I'm like hello? Can anyone else not see the writing on the wall? Millennials and Gen Z in particular should look upon 401(k)s with suspicion.
