Yeah its all smoke & mirrors. Wyden might mean what he says but nobody believes the NSA are going to give up their data, & even if the did they will get it again in some other way. That's what they do & nothing will ever stop them.

the enablement of opt out thru informed consent effectively put the MIC on notice they are knowingly engaging in illegal activity. should your data wind up

in their system, that's the op for lawsuits

they'll still break the law, but they exist on eggshells

better than before
