In most cases, it’s best to remove the superfluous.

Small distractions can pull attention away from the essence of an image - or whatever you’re focusing on. The same goes for photography. Sometimes black and white is the better choice if color doesn’t add anything. Having both options in your toolkit - and knowing when to use them - is what separates a “keeper” from a “non-keeper.”

I’m a fan of color - I love exploring tonalities and textures. But sometimes a photo just looks better in black and white. After years of looking at images, it often becomes a simple decision. It’s subjective, of course, but as Plato said, “the beautiful is easy to discern.”

These photos were taken yesterday on a quick hike with my Leica M262 and edited in Lightroom + Dehancer Film.

I see what your saying, but personally I almost always like color. it just feels better
