(I think the issue is the wrapped messages thing on Amethyst, the hat with glasses icon next to the input/message field, turning that off should send messages normally?)

Yea., it seems like it was that wrapped messaging issue, i can see DMs now on other clients.

Doesn't seem like there there's an option to turn it off by default, so i guess if anyone would want to use it they'd have to turn it off (tap it) every time before they want to send a dm

I wish there was some NIP to disable DMs or at least signal I don't want them

it's all local in terms of UX, so I'd assume clients could easily add an option remove the DM UI/button and disable notifications for it.
