they keep paying me 4 sats no matter what stupid thing i say so i'm considering a block

Blocks on nostr don’t prevent ppl from following you or seeing your posts, or zapping (presumably). You’d stop getting the notifications though.

4 sats is a minuscule amount that is probably costing me more time to check than what that's worth in dollars.

Turn off notifications for the app. Enjoy the money . Problem solved

certain notifications are more valuable than others, so no.

I dont think they are a bot but they do have a bot tipping people

i don't like it. if it tipped 10000 sats i wouldn't complain, but it's tipping a uselessly low amount.

Yeah thats fine. Im not sure if you block/mute them that will stop them from tipping you. Just comment on one of their posts that you want them to stop it I guess

you can't really block on Nostr no. a block usually prevents them from seeing your posts. thing about "just comment on one of their posts" is that they're not posting. just tipping 4 sats for whatever i say. i'm not sure what is the purpose...

zaps are fine but that many feels a bit simpish. i can't possibly be posting that much good content.

Snort has auto-zaps, so I do that for a few minutes each day on global to help people verify their zaps are working and some folks may never had received a sat before.

okay, that helps explain it. i get plenty of zaps though so don't do that. reserve it for when i post good stuff please.

What does a zap notification look like? If it’s just like a like, I don’t see how it’s more of a problem than someone just liking your posts.

It's just like a text notification, "you were zapped 100 sats"

if someone hit like on virtually everything i post, i'd have the same problem

I’m wondering if you could get the bot to start tipping you and then just started spamming thousands of posts, if it would eventually amount to something lol.
